Εν έτει 2020 και έπειτα από την πληθώρα πληροφοριών που δεχόμαστε καθημερινά μέσω των social media και των media γενικότερα, θα περίμενε κανείς, πως ο ρατσισμός θα έχει μπει στο χρονοντούλαπο και πως όλοι θα έχουμε ένα διαφορετικό state of mond απέναντι στους ανθρώπους. Αλλά τα γεγονότα αποδεικνύουν πως δεν παίζει τέτοιο σενάριο, ειδικά στην Αμερική που υποτίθεται πως είναι μια χώρα για όλους.
Ο θάνατος του George Floyd έχει προκαλέσει παγκόσμια οργή αλλά και συγκίνηση, και στα social media βλέπουμε συνεχώς εικόνες οι οποίες είναι κατά του ρατσισμού και φανερώνουν την αγανάκτηση του κόσμου απέναντι σε τέτοιου είδους φαινόμενα τα οποία ανά τακτά χρονικά διαστήματα εμφανίζονται.
Ο ρατσισμός σε ένα γενικότερο πλαίσιο πρέπει επιτέλους να εξαλειφθεί και να κατανοήσουμε όλοι πως είμαστε όντα τα οποία έχουμε έρθει σε αυτόν τον πλανήτη για να συνυπάρξουμε όμορφα και να τέτοιες συμπεριφορές δε μας αρμάζουν!

Et les 2 bras étaient sans couleur. MAIS Les récents événements m’ont amenée à penser à reposter ce dessin, avec l’autre phrase et un bras foncé, comme pour me rappeler que chaque action est importante, qu’il est toujours temps de prendre position, et qu’il n’y a pas de « petite action »…. Car la réalité est que ces violences me rendent malade, j’ai envie de hurler et de pleurer…. Pour moi le moment est venu de prendre la parole, prendre position et faire du mieux possible pour montrer mon soutien. LOVE ALWAYS [EN] I decided to use an old illustration. When I first drew it, I was not sure about what to write. It was for the 8 March… I hesitated between “Love always” and “The future is female”…. to finally keep “The future is female”. And the 2 arms were not coloured. BUT…. In the light of the recent events, I decided to post this illustration with a black arm, and “Love always” as a reminder to myself that every move is important, every action matters, and that there is no “too small action” …. Because the truth is, I am sick of hearing, seeing, all these violences. It makes me sick. I want to scream and cry…. For me, the time has come to speak up, take side, and do the best I can to show support. With protests occurring around the world in response to the recent killings of POC, including George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and many more as a result of inexcusable police brutality in the US this week, it is important to remember that this is unfortunately not a new or independent problem. Systemic racism occurs around the globe and consistent action is required by all, not just those directly affected. It is not the place for white people to be the voice for POC, but it is essential to actively listen, learn, and amplify their voices and messages, as well as take action to make change.
